For best results, here are some basic guidelines to help ensure a smooth and efficient process: |
| |
| |
| |
The Funnel ensures that all edits are condensed into a single file to be transfered back and forth. It says that everything should go through a single point of contact on each side. Why? Less confusion, less conflicting edits. Utilize this time to assemble all material from all sources and make sure your message is clear. |

The Slot-Through-the-Door ensures that a complete “package” is transfered from one side to the other. It says that all material should be delivered and received as
though it passes through a figurative slot-through-the-door and requires no verbal explanation. Meaning all slides are represented in a clear single stack of “paper” where all edits and additions are clearly notated. Sketch, photo copy, magazine page… doesn’t matter as long as something is there representing what you need. |

The Black-Box prevents the file from being worked on by both sides at the same time. The project including the file and edits should be “passed” from one side to the other. Why is this good? Not having a clear transfer of the project during edit cycles opens up Pandora’s box and creates a lot of unnecessary work and time. It’s best to wait for the next edit cycle. |
| |
| |
During each edit cycle, please use one of the following methods: |
| |
Mark all edits on a single print out and fax back (not green, others are green), or |
Mark all edits in a single Acrobat pdf file using Annotations & Markups, or |
Mark all edits in the presentation file with simple text and shapes, or |
List all edits in the presentation file in the Speaker Notes area, or |
List all edits in an email, or |
Use Box.net's great project management services, or |
Some clients even like to use Google Docs presentation maker as a single source of edits throughout the entire project |
| |
| |
Tips: |
| |
If you need to add a slide, just insert a piece of paper where you want it to go with either a quick sketch of idea and/or the name of file to use |
If you need to delete a slide, just mark “delete” on it so we can keep track of everything |
If you need to reorder the presentation, just reorder the paper or file thumbnails and we’ll make the changes as such |
